Q: Cannot pair my iPhone 6 to Bluetooth in the car

i have tried repeatedly with no luck. Had no problem with previous iPhone and blackberry. Other posts indicated that a case was the problem but I do not have one. Hoping there is an easy solution. I have HandsFree link with an RDX. Thanks.

    Hey there Peppersaul,

It sounds like you are not able to pair your iPhone 6 to your vehicles bluetooth connection. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you resolve that, named:

    iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections

    These steps in particular:

    1. Restart your iOS device.
    2. Update your device to the latest version of software. See how to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    3. If your Bluetooth accessory has upgradable firmware, check to see that you have the latest version1, 2.

Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find

    • Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory.
    • Position your iOS device and Bluetooth accessory in direct line of sight of each other. For example, move the Bluetooth accessory and iOS device to the same side of your body.
    • Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if performance improves.
    • Check for sources of potential interference and move both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory away from other electronic devices.
    • Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
      • This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the very best,

I am trying to pair 2 IPhone 6's to a 2006 Acura MDX.  I just paired these 2 phones successfully to a 2014 Honda Pilot.

In the Acura MDX,  I removed all prior Cellphone pairings ( which one was an Iphone5 that was paired successfully), this time it says the name could be recognized as ....... try a longer one,  I give it a longer one and it does not connect.

The Iphone 6's are update to latest 8.02 code.

I was having a terrible time with pairing my iphone 6 with my car as well. After a few hours over a few days I drove over to the dealer where I bought my car 2 years ago. In less than 5 minutes, done.

    I don't know what i was doing wrong,but done.

as for anyone who is seeing "looking for devices" on the iphone, that goes away once you leave setting.

I really hope this helps you.
