    iPhoto has been discontinued, sorry.

You are supposed to migrate your iPhoto Library to the "Photos" app, see this help document:   Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8

Not all can be migrated - no Journals, no books, and you will not be able to add new tags and captions.

See this on how to browse your photos in the Photos.app:  Get help finding your Photos in iOS 8

You may want to send feedback to Apple about the features you are missing: Apple - iPhoto - Feedback

So, all of us who paid for iPhoto are now out of luck. That Is absolutely terrible*****! I haven't even had that app for a year, maybe not even six months, and loved it. All that was good about it had better be in Photos, but I bet it won't be. Dark background for starters..........

***** represents what one does with a straw, but is too strong for this forum, so I changed it to " is absolutely terrible. "

iPhoto needs iOS 7.  The problem is, that there is no Apple supported way back to iOS 7, once we have upgraded to iOS 8.

The photos.app is right now a poor substitute for iPhoto; I hope it will be updated soon to support the missing features - tag, titles, info panels, and most important brushed adjustments and retouching.

Tell Apple which iPhoto features you'd like to see incorporated into the Photos apps via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

Thanks, Old Toad! I have sent feedback to Apple, albeit on the iPhone section (I have an iPad mini) and will send another to the iCloud link you provided. I only paid for the app because I hated the "upgrade" to Photos, so I feel as if I wasted my hard-earned money. Had I known this was coming, I wouldn't have bothered! I liked iPhoto a lot......
