I found a solution, when the installation hangs at realtek audio:

1. DO NOT turn it off

2. go to your bootcamp folder, manually install the realtek driver, DO NOT restart

3. after manully setup, open Task Manage, and kill the "RealtekSetup" process

4. bootcamp will skip the Realte, and have fun

I am so thankful I found this. I am having the same issue on a new 13" 2015 MBP retina. Bootcamp installs Windows 10 fine but the setup hangs at the Realtek step. I tried installing manually without luck and couldn't get the trackpad to word so I could right click on anything. After 20 minutes on the phone with Apple Support I was told it was a Windows issue with the drivers they supplied and they can't help me. They suggested that I contact Microsoft. I did and they couldn't help since it was an Apple product.

I wanted to clarify that in the above solution, click control+option+delete to get to task manager. It will show "Setup" as the running process. Do not end this task. Instead click on "More Details" at the bottom and scroll down to find "Realtek Setup". The instructions by lincizy were exactly correct, but you have to expand the "More Details" to find it. I am now running Windows 10 and have a working trackpad.

I'm having the same issue with Windows 10. Anyone found a fix for this? I tried going into the Bootcamp installer folder and install Realtek drivers manually which succeeded, but when I launch the Bootcamp installer again, it still gets stuck when installing Realtek drivers.

Many many thanks, I was having the same issue and pulling my hair out trying to get the boot camp driver package to work. It nearly got to the point where I just thought, just get rid of it and not to bother. Tried installing all sorts of versions of Boot Camp divers nothing worked. So thanks again your a life saver.

Had same issue with audio driver getting stuck during install. Now all is installed and properly working, only audio is still not working. There are drivers installed, but they seem not to work. Is there a possibility to install the drivers afterwards?

I had to run a search for "Realtek" and it was buried ridiculously deep -- c:\Windows.old, etc. Following the steps here did allow the Boot Camp installer to finish, though, so thanks for the tip! Restarting now - fingers crossed.

This post is very helpful. It should be posted on Apple's board since it is a workaround for the hang. After the realtek hang is bypassed and the rest of the script runs this solves a number of problems with the mssing audio driver (cirrus) and it sets the time and other keyboard functions correctly, such as volume and brightness.

I have tried all sort of option.

I had already installed the newest driver for REALTEK, to get HDMI speaker to work.

Installed Bootcamp, it hangs with realtek. Taskmanager, close process. OK, bootcamp instals.

First, I want to give credit to the two original replies, who 100% solved this problem for me. You guys are the real MVP's and really saved me today.

Second, looking into both options presented, I found my own solution which I hope will be easier for the average person looking to install Windows 10 on a Mac.

When the computer boots into Windows the first time, the Boot Camp menu automatically pops up.

1. QUIT THE BOOT CAMP INSTALLER. Don't even start it.

2. In the WININSTALL drive, click the folder that says "Bootcamp"

3. Click "Drivers"

4. Click "Realtek"

5. Install the Realtek Driver.

6. Once this finishes, drag the Realtek Driver to the Recycle Bin. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP

7. Restart your machine.

8. After your computer starts up, click the WININSTALL drive again.

9. Click the "BootCamp" drive again

10. Click the "Setup" file

Run the setup as usual, it will complete without issue.

Basically the only thing i'm doing here is installing the Realtek driver manually, and then deleting it from the Setup package so there is no issue in the first place. This hopefully will be easier than using task manager to quit a part of the setup process manually, OR having to rename .exe files to help the install. I have loaded windows cancelled bootcamp on my thumbdrive but still no wininstall ? I tried windows then boot but no drivers option .? Tried searching usb drive for wininstall and drivers but nothing ?. Where am i going wrong ?????

I have a usb with window on that is not the issue just spent 90 mins on phone with apple advisor !! 1. If you have a USB Installer, you should be able to find the RealTek driver as highlighted below. Your USB may have different folders in $WinPEDriver$ than what I have, because they are driven by Mac Model.
