Q: Anyones health kit app stop working?

I went to bed last night and everything was tracking fine between my Healthkit app and myfitnesspal app. I had 5 or 6 things pinned to my dashboard. I woke up and it is all gone.. Nothing is pinned to my dashboard and when I swipe to put it on my dashboard and press back it still isn't there and I go back in and it is switched off. I click on the Show all data and it does the spiny thinking icon forever and won't populate. But my steps I think are still being calculated in myfitnesspal. I have killed all open apps, soft restart, hard restart and nothing has fixed it. I have the iPhone 6 64gb ATT with the os and all apps updated.

I have given up on the Health app.

I've tried everything that has been suggested here in the forum, but in the end, nothing works. Yesterday I dragged the app into a folder with other non-used Apple apps that I can't delete. Conceptually the Health App is a terrific idea, but if it doesn't work, it is just taking up space. Maybe in the future - like when Apple Watch is released - Apple will actually fix the bugs that make the current app useless.

I too have the same issue, noticed it after upgrading to 8.1. I have an Iphone 5S. Health does not sync with my other apps anymore after upgrading. Making matters worse is the app crashes a lot, other times I just get a white screen. I do not have Myfitness but I do have Pear, Argus, MotionX, Wahoo Fitness and Runtastic. I've done a hard reset and nothing. Hope Apple finally realizes there is an issue here that needs to be solved.

    Alas,

I have tried all the tricks (except for a total restore) and still have  no luck whatsoever.

I am hesitent to do a restroe as everytime I have done this is previous attempts, I lose valuable info, passwords, etc.  Just not worth it.

Went to the Apple Store to see a Genius.  Basically said I had a unique problem and to wipe and rebels from scratch all apps and settings.  Again, just not worth it, when all other functions are perfect.  Just disappointing how poorly Apple has managed this one.

You are definitely not alone.  I'm not restoring anymore until the are facts to support the sucess of that measure.  There are too many other things lost in that process.  There must be a better way then always resorting to that as the "fix".

So, since 8.1 mine has been working pretty well.  I've only had one instance where my dashboard was empty and had to reboot.  It does sometimes say "no data" for up to 20 secs when I first open the app but all in all it has been working well for me.

    Confirmed.

iOS 8.1 fixed the issue with the HealthKit App not displaying info correctly.  Since updating to 8.1 my MyFitnessPro and other fitness apps write data to the HealthKit app and they are now visible all the time.  No need to reboot the phone.

Definitely UNCONFIRMED.  I have 8.1 and it doesn't work.  It worked for some but definitely not all.

Everything was working fine on my iPhone 6 iOS 8.1 until yesterday afternoon. All of a sudden, my dashboard reset to only show Steps, Walking + Running and Flights Climbed. However all are empty with the message "No Data". If I go and select other items to show on the dashboard the widget shows up but if I then go out of the app and come back in it's gone. Was syncing fine with other apps but now nothing. Pretty annoying. Have tried everything. Off/on gave nothing. Doing a restore has not solved the issue. Only thing that go it working was setting up as a new phone but then all of the data I'd previously recorded won't be there. Anybody having similar issues or possible solutions?

I'm having the same issues. When I power off it works for awhile, but doesn't last long. Frankly, I'm tired of messing with it. I don't think apple will place any priority on this until the release of their watch. It's a shame this is not an app from the App Store because we have to wait for new iOS updates to have a chance of fixing these problems.

I have a new iPhone 6. The Health app displayed its basic information, but not reliably.  Sometimes it would show and other times it would say 'data not available'  I connected the Jawbone UP app to it, and they both crapped out. Refused to update, hanging apps, UP stopped recording at a particular time of the day. A mess.

From the UP setup, I disabled connection to the Health app, and both are showing their respective information as expected, though the Health app is sometimes very slow to respond, showing 'no data' for a long time.

Exact same story here. If I get anything on my Dashboard it's only empty "Steps" and "Walking + Running Distance" sections. It was working (sort of) until about a week ago.

I had this problem for a couple weeks ago.  It would only show Steps, walking+running distance, and flights climbed.   I had it sync'd with MyFitnessPal and Up24. Even though the Health app wasn't working, it seems like the data was still on the phone somewhere because the Breeze app was accurately tracking my steps.

I was waiting for the next iOS update for a fix.  I was hoping that updating to 8.1.1 would fix it, but it didn't.  I had to restore my phone to factory state, check that the health app was actually working and tracking my steps and then I just restored my phone from backup.  I haven't tried to connect it with MyFitnessPal or Up24 yet but I hope it wasn't the cause.

Yup... it appears broken.  On iOS 8.1.0 (not going to .1.1 yet) and I just launched it and the dashboard is now empty and the Health App has locked up from what I can tell.   I am suspecting healthkit is at the root of the problems all of the various health related apps are having.  Its just not working.

MyFitnessPal and Jawbone UP apps both have had intermittent hanging of 20+ seconds or more ever since Healthkit integration.

Looking at things, I can tab around inside healthkit so long as I do not select the 'sources' tab.  If I select sources then healthkit locks up dead as a rock.  Worse still, if I try to modify HealthKit sharing inside of the MyFitnessPal app, I also get a lockup.  Seems any attempt to access the healthkit data sharing cloudy settings behind the scenes and you get instant gridlock.

I may just turn off healthkit again in the various apps - it appears to only break things and make apps unusable.

If you haven't tried this already, try to stop or remove the sync between your app and the health kit app.  Restart the phone then reenable the sync between the app and health app.

This should remove the sync relationship and refresh once you add it back.

I have the same problems and Apple just sent me a new iPhone 6 Plus and it did NOTHING to fix this bug. They even had me restore as a new phone and reinstall each app one by one and all that did was lose my data in the apps that saved it. From what I am seeing, this seems to be an iPhone 6 & 6+ problem, and it really ***** that few of the Apple support people know ANYTHING about it.
