And I wonder if it's like two other editing codecs from around the same time that HDV and DVCPRO HD were introduced...because those won't play on any computer unless FCP is installed. Guessing that the same goes for AIC? Because it's meant to be an editing codec for FCP...not a final delivery option.

I appreciate the reply. Just to let you know, I have seen AIC work previously - has something changed. And also, should FCP 7 users download the codec update for FCP X users?

Sep 29, 2014 10:23 AM in response to KGDby Shane Ross,Well...depends on the OS involved then. Apple is dropping Quicktime in favor of AV Foundation. Quicktime X is still half finished, and isn't getting further coding. Plus AIC is a very lossy codec. Avoid it. Use ProRes.
