Oct 27, 2014 8:58 AM in response to rob1234567by bjoernalbers,The bug also appears on iOS 8.1: I just had the same experience on an iPhone 4S with a Cisco IPSec-VPN + paranoid passphrase...
Deleting and recreating the VPN-connection doesn't solve the issue.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update...

Mar 17, 2015 11:24 AM in response to rob1234567by rob1234567,Still unable to save a VPN in iOS 8.2. Starting to look like Apple has abandoned VPN support and it's time to switch to OpenVPN
I tested various passwords between 16 and 32 characters in length and never had a single success at saving it. Prompted me every time.

Aug 11, 2015 4:38 AM in response to rob1234567by rob1234567,Confirmed, still unable to save password in iOS 8.4.
This version offers one small improvement though, it is now possible to delete the VPN connection and create a new connection with a saved password.
It is also possible to use the OpenVPN app where available. The app seems to work better overall as it has a better interface.
