Problem downloading IOS 8.0.2

So I'm trying to install 8.0.2 but I can't get past the terms and conditon page. It'll bring up the terms and conditions page and I'll hit "agree" but then after that nothing happens. It doesn't try to verify the update or anything. I'll literally hit "agree" and then nothing happens at all after that point. I can't open some apps and I'm assuming that is due to my phone not being up to date. I have a 4S. It's just a little frustrating because I never had this problem before when trying to install a new update. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi, steven8439.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

You can also update this iPad via iTunes on a computer as an alternative.

Update your device using iTunes

If you can’t update wirelessly, or if you want to update with iTunes, follow these steps:

  1. If you use your device's Personal Hotspot for your computer's Internet connection, update your device wirelessly or connect your computer to another network.
  2. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
  3. Plug in your device to your computer.
  4. In iTunes, select your device.
  5. In the Summary pane, click Check for Update.
  6. Click Download and Update.

If you see an error message while updating your device, you can learn how to resolve iOS update errors in iTunes.

Ok currently I am having numerous problems with my iPhone and really need some help.

I have an iPhone 5s 16gb

First Problem: My phone has 5GB of "Other" data. This is not due to cached data, app data, it is random extra data from somewhere. In the past, I have plugged my phone in, completely restored it and then backed it up to my previous versions. This seemed to completely remove all of the "other" data; however, right now, after 2-3 days later, it is completely full of 5GB of "other."

Second Problem: I have updated my phone to iOS 8.0.2 through my phone. It would not update through my computer. Saying it would take over 2 hours and then failed over 10 times. "The was a problem downloading software for iPhone. The network connection timed out." My internet connection is fine. I have tried it through wifi as well as directly connection to my router.

Third Problem: I updated to iOS 8.0.2 through my phone itself. This worked fine. The problem I am having now is back to my Fist problem. My phone is full of Other data and I am trying to restore my iPhone to clear the data. I cannot even take a photo/video or hardly update some apps because all the space is taken up with "other." Since I updated my phone to iOS 8.0.2, I assumed I would be able to back it up and restore it like I have always done. When I click "check for update," it says everything is up to date. On my phone, it says I have the latest version. When I go to "restore iPhone..." it tries to make me update my phone again; thus I am running into my Second Problem: the network connection times out.

Please help anyway that you can. I am extremely frustrated with this issue. For the past 2 months, I have had to restore my iPhone and then set it up like a brand new on from my back up nearly once a week. All of this work, only to find out now that with this new update, I cannot restore my iPhone.

I had this problem. I couldn't possibly delete enough on my phone to make enough room, although I had nothing left to delete. I tried restarting the phone, I reset all settings on the phone, I logged in to iCloud. None of the suggestions above helped. Finally, I remembered that I had declined an offer to upgrade iTunes to the latest version. (Since having podcasts completely screwed up from the last update, I habitually decline now.) I updated iTunes and when it was finished, I was prompted to update the software on my phone. It's updating now.

(oops. not meant to be a reply specifically to toropov. just the topic in general.)

In my case upgrading from a 4 to a 5s, I had cut my sim card to fit into my wifes 5s,

after that able to take calls etc,

but downloading ios 802 just got stuck and said 15 hours remaining despite trying all things above.(restarting, resetting)

I gave up, but when I went to work and logged into a separate wifi all of the sudden it started working.

I suspect my att wifi in combination with an att phone service (well paid) was blocking the download somehow.

I also had a problem updating my 5S (with about 3.5G free space) to iOS 8.0.2 from 8.0, both wirelessy (getting past terms and conditions page) AND via iTunes (it kept giving me a network/time out error). The following did not work for me (all suggested in previous responses): restarting my phone, resetting all the settings, and upgrading iTunes to the current version. What finally DID work for me was logging in to iCloud, although it didn't actually ask me to accept the terms and conditions as noted in other responses. I was then able to update iOS wirelessly. Thank you all for your suggestions/responses!
