Is it possible to superimpose two images in pages?

I have this USA map, and I'd like to superimpose small pictures on that image, showing geographical preferences (I'm trying to put a chicken sandwich in the northeast!). Any pointers??

When inserting objects, make sure you are in the object layer by clicking outside of the text/layout area. If you should accidentally insert an object in the text layer, go to the wrap inspector & click next to "fixed on page" rather than "moves with text." While you're in the wrap inspector, you'll probably want to de-select "object causes wrap." This is on by default for all inserted or pasted objects & will result in objects "pushing" other objects & text out of the way.
