Sep 30, 2014 7:49 AM in response to Jm8457by rpierce99,Are the kids devices IOS7 by chance? I am having this problem as well and it seems to come and go, I haven't had a chance to validate this but my theory is it works when they request from their IOS8 iPods, but not from their IOS7 iPads.

Sep 30, 2014 8:06 AM in response to Jm8457by MJFranklin76,I have also been having this problem since yesterday. The Family Sharing and approval process was working fine previously, but suddenly it's not. I've updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone and iPad, and my kids' iPads are also updated to iOS 8.

Feb 15, 2015 11:21 AM in response to Omniverby Omniver,Apple senior tech acknowledged that they've been having issues with approvals and are working on it. We tried a couple of further troubleshooting steps to no avail. We disabled the "ask to buy" for now; he's going to escalate further and call me back.

Jul 12, 2015 9:44 AM in response to Jm8457by tune76,I was amazed how old this problem is. I enabled family share yesterday and managed to approve couple of apps but then i got into this loop of asking password. Did iOS 8.4 break this again? Or what's wrong with this? All my devices are running iOS 8.4.

Sep 24, 2015 1:16 AM in response to Jm8457by PedroRS,Same problem here. Now with devices running iOS 9.
I get the password loop both on my iPad 3 (iOS 9) and on my MacBook Pro (Yosemite 10.10.5). Also, for some reason that I can't explain, I don't receive the notification on my iPhone 5 (iOS 9).
Would appreciate a solution...

Sep 7, 2016 12:21 PM in response to Jm8457by Zarquon42,The solution is hidden at Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support:
If you decline the request or don't make the purchase, it will be deleted after 24 hours, and the child will need to make the request again.
So what's going on here is that you're trying to approve an expired request, and it's failing, over and over, without notice or explanation.
