family sharing sing in to approve

We are set up using family sharing. It took a bit to get it working at first, but then seemed OK. Now after upgrading to 8.0.2 we cant seem to approve any purchase requests by our children. When we click approve, we are prompted with a Sign in to Approve. We enter the password of the icloud account requested, and hit OK. The Sing In to Approve comes back within a couple seconds. This goes on endlessly and doesn't ever approve the app on the child's device. This is happening for all devices assigned to the organizer and parent. We've tried signing out of itunes and icloud on the devices. Any suggestions?

Are the kids devices IOS7 by chance? I am having this problem as well and it seems to come and go, I haven't had a chance to validate this but my theory is it works when they request from their IOS8 iPods, but not from their IOS7 iPads.

I have also been having this problem since yesterday. The Family Sharing and approval process was working fine previously, but suddenly it's not. I've updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone and iPad, and my kids' iPads are also updated to iOS 8.

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? Im currently experiencing this on an ipad mini we just bought for our kids. All devices are current on the iOS 8 update.

This thread dies out with no solutions or further pleas posted. Did things just fix themselves as sometimes happen> Because I have the same problem right now.

Apple senior tech acknowledged that they've been having issues with approvals and are working on it. We tried a couple of further troubleshooting steps to no avail. We disabled the "ask to buy" for now; he's going to escalate further and call me back.

I was amazed how old this problem is. I enabled family share yesterday and managed to approve couple of apps but then i got into this loop of asking password. Did iOS 8.4 break this again? Or what's wrong with this? All my devices are running iOS 8.4.

Same problem here. Now with devices running iOS 9.

I get the password loop both on my iPad 3 (iOS 9) and on my MacBook Pro (Yosemite 10.10.5). Also, for some reason that I can't explain, I don't receive the notification on my iPhone 5 (iOS 9).

Would appreciate a solution...
