I have an iPad 2, and it was put in safe mode by mistake when downloading the new iOS 8.0 update, how can I get it out of safe mode without losing files.
I really need the notes I have on the iPad, as they are important for my school work

Can you explain what you mean by "safe mode"? What is showing on the screen? Can you boot it to your home screen?
Also, do you have backups in iTunes or iCloud?

There is a safe boot on a Mac but I have never heard of anything like that on an iPad.
If you are referring to restore mode where the iPad displays a USB connector and iTunes then the data on the iPad is already gone and you might as well connect it up to your computer and restore so that it works.
