I recently purchased a new Imac 27". I downloaded Quicken 2015 for MAC from Amazon prime. The program would not accept my Quicken password, nor would it accept the answer to my security question.

I called Quicken and in short order reached a representative. He suggested I purchase a program from Quicken that would allow Quicken 2007 to work with Yosemite 10.1. I did ($79.). It works. Fortunately, Amazon allowed a refund on Quicken 2015 for MAC, which I sweated since their policy is not to give refunds on software.

So for now, my IMAC Quicken problems seem to be solved.

My old IMAC was approaching 7 years (trouble free) and I had to upgrade as the operating system on the old IMAC was not being supported with security and other upgrades.

Not a cheap solution, but the best in my situation. Oh, I could not use Turbo Tax as the latest TT would not operate on my old IMAC operating system.

You can obtain a copy of Quicken 2007 that will work in Yosemite directly from Intuit for $15 by use of the "chat" feature on their support website:

Use the chat feature for Quicken for Mac: Quicken 2007 for Lion: Shopping and Buying: Buying Quicken on this page

If Chuck was sold Quicken 2007 for $79 from Intuit, he should call for a partial refund!

My understanding is that Quicken 2015 for Mac is based upon Quicken Essentials for Mac, which has a smaller subset of features than Quicken 2007 for Mac.
