Q: Bluetooth in iOS 8 has very little signal strength.

Since updating to iOS 8 (now 8.0.2) my iPhone 5 has lost almost all Bluetooth signal strength.  I have several headsets and all of them drop out at 1 meter from the iPhone. I won't update the rest of my iPhones and iPads until this is fixed.  No one else seeing this behavior?

    Hi drtbyk,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

Take a look at the article linked below, it provides a lot of general troubleshooting tips and suggestions that will resolve a lot of Bluetooth related issues.

Thanks for the link Jason.  I did try most of the shotgunning outlined there but, moving my iPhone 5 to within two feet line of sight with my headset is not the experience I was looking for with iOS 8.0.2.  I have held off updating my wife's iPhone 5 (iOS 7) because it does not have this reduced Bluetooth power issue - just like mine didn't before the update.  I can use this headset from across the room with her phone and with my iPad (neither of which have been updated) and with an Android device.

iOS 8 has killed my Bluetooth power output other than that the headset functions as it should.
