New hard drive..... lost software

I just got a new hard drive and lost everything because I didn't back up. My question is, I don't have Pages anymore or some other aps that came with my mac book pro. Do I have to purchase them now???

I also had iWeb which I used to build a web site. Is there a place I can get that software and a way to upload my website onto it???

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Since you have a late 2011 MBP, it came with Lion. If you boot the MBP with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys, This will allow you to reinstall LION from the Apple servers which will have all of the original applications.

In regards to iWeb, I suggest that you find an alternative application that is supported. iWeb has been discontinued now for a couple of years.

Where did your old HD go? If you did the replacement yourself and you still have the (working) old one, you can install it in an external case and connect via USB. Then, either "Restore" what's on the old one to the new one, or, after OS installation on the new one, use Setup or Migration Assistant to transfer everything to the new one.
