To use the time Lapse featue on iOS 8

1. Swipe to the Time Lapse option in the Camera app

2. Position the camera in the place you want to time lapse I would suggest plugging it in because it does use battery fast

3. Tap the shutter button and record the desired footage

4. Tap the shutter button again to stop the recording

5. The file will load and will save to the camera roll

hope that helped

From the iPad User Guide for IOS 8.

“Capture an experience with time-lapse. Choose Time-Lapse, set up iPad where you want, then tap the Record Time-Lapse Video button to start capturing a sunset, a flower opening, or other experiences over a period of time. Tap the Record Time-Lapse Video button again to stop. The time-lapse photos are compiled into a short video that you can watch and share.”
