Have you tried a safe boot? That can sometimes fix such problems and is a little easier:

problem : i used 2 lang kor, u.s
booting up after programming with xcode

then, i can't use kor
also , cant find kor on keyboard setting

1, i open a terminal app

2, sudo su - ( root login)
and delete that files
and reboot

1. open terminal.app ( if you dont know how to open it, then use spotlight )

2. login root (

2-1. sudo su - ( this command require 'user password' )

2-2. su - ( this command require 'root password' )

3. id ( 'uid=0(root)', then ok )

4. find / -name "com.apple.HIToolbox.plist" 2>/dev/null

5. cd {path} ( cd means change Directory, so.

ex ) /Library/Preferences/com.apple.???.plist

cd /Library/Preferences

then, you're in /Library/Preferences Dir

6. rm -f com.apple.???.plist

7. cd /System/Library/Caches/

8. rm -f com.apple.IntlDataCache.le*

9. finally, it's done just reboot

I don't think applekeyboaredlayouts.bundle plays a role. Instead you need system/library/input methods/SCIM.app.

Try setting up a new user account and see if you still have the problem when logged into that. You may need to reinstall the OS.

I got over it. Delete the file "com.apple.HIToolbox.plist", and run sudo rm -f /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.IntlDataCache.le* . Then it worked.

Hold the Option key down while doing Finder > Go > Library. Navigate to Library/Preferences.

Thanks, I had the same problem, and your suggestion resolved them. I know have the Japanese keyboard back.
