screen will not rotate. Screen lock is not on. Problem comes and goes. Ipad does it on home screen, photos, Safari. Iphone 6, same issue on camera, photos safari and other apps. I thk it is a buggy iOS.

iipad Air: I have never had this issue befor upgrading ti 8.0.0. The screen rotate just happens no matter what screen I am on. It dones it when it feels like it. Just a few minutes ago, it did it on my lock screen. The whole screen was upside down. I had to do a full power down to fix it. It has happened on safari also. Sometimes it corrects itself in a few minutes, sometimes I have to re power. I don't use the camera on the iPad much, so not sure if it locks while taking photos. I have also noticed a different problem, while using safari it seems like the Internet stops working even though it indicates that I have a connection. It is like the screen freezes, none of the hyperlinks work. When I upgraded to 8.0.2, all these issues still present.
iPhone6; all of the same issues as the iPad Air. Except that at time when using camera, the camera icon in the camera view will not rotate to the correct perspective. Causing saved photos to appear sideways and upside down.. Powering down usually would solve this, but it would come back when ever it felt like it. 8.0.2 did not fix this.
Oddly... On my iPhone 6 plus, I noticed that the Screen Rotation stopped on my phone.
But I thought for a minute, and I tried to remember what I have set on my phone recently.
I recently... also switched to Zoomed View.
When I stitched back to "Standard View", the rotation works fine.
Then, if I switch back to "Zoomed View" it stops working.
A New phone won't help, it's this garbage release of 8.0.2. Its a train wreck.
Screen rotation is failing, emails don't update, data connectivity is a disaster. Apple released a turd with this one. Hopefully they are planning an update VERY SOON.
Yes, this is due to bug in iOS 8.0. my iPad Air does the same. Nothing works well anymore. Most games freeze while running, Apps crash regularly and the screen won't rotate until the iPad is restarted! Hope they roll out some fix soon.
I am having the same issue on Iphone 6+ and never had it before with iphone 5 (or Ipad 3)
to rotate I have to turn it a few times or it keeps h/v display on v/h position
ZZoom is off and never was turned on
My iphone 6 intermittently won't rotate in photos, text messages. Comes and goes. Going to Genius Bar today.
