Q: [iTunes U] Can not completely remove course material

Hi everyone! We have a problem regarding iTunes U Site Manager, hope you can help us..

Several days ago we uploaded a video in course manager materials library and it has been used in 2 different courses. Let's say these courses are Course A and Course B. And two days ago, we delete this video from materials pane in Course A but still used in Course B.

But the reality is when we remove this video from Course A, all post in the Course B that using this video are also deleted. Why this can be happen? We remove this video from Materials pane the Course A instead of remove it from My Materials Library menu.

And now when we check our course again in iTunes and Course Manager, there is something strange.. In iTunes, this video is still attached in Course A whereas in course manager, this Course A doesn't have this video anymore. Even we removed it from Materials Library, this video is still appear in Course A. Is it a bug or we've done something wrong? Please give us any advice, because this is very irritating

Thank you

You say "Site Manager" and "Course Manager", which are two separate sites for managing content. Since I have more experience with Course Manager (and because you appear to be talking about that), my questions assume you are using Course Manager to create courses specifically for iTunes U for iOS.

Does the video in question still appear in "My Materials Library"?

Did any interesting error messages or dialogs appear while you performed these deletions?

Were all deletions performed with Course Manager? (That is, were any steps performed with the teacher experience in iTunes U for iOS?) What browser and version are you using?

    Hi Patixa,

Thank you for your response.. You right, we're using site manager and course manager for managing our content in iTunes U. Yes, after we remove the video from materials pane in the Course A, it still appear in My Material Library. We found no error messages or dialog in the course manager while performed this deletion. FYI, we're using Google Chrome version 37

One more question, Patixa..If we want to change something in a course that have been published, does we need to re-add this course into the site manager?

    Thank you

I don't know very much about Site Manager as I am not an institutional administrator. I thought that updating a published course would add some notification to Site Manager, but, again, I have no direct experience with it.

Regarding the missing material problem, I recommend you let Apple know by filling out the feedback form:

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes-u_ios.html

If you have a registered developer account, you can use https://bugreport.apple.com instead.

Whichever form you use, be as explicit in your steps as you were in your original post, add relevant configuration details (like OS and browser versions), and screenshots that help visualize the issue.
