Mirroring off my ipad

I installed ios8 a week ago along with the update, now I find that my ipad will no longer airplay with my receiver, is this due to the update as I have an Iphone 5 which I also updated and everything is working fine. Can anyone advise? Just to let you know i have rebooted, shutdown, checked and double checked and still not working right.
