Mavericks Download Without AppStore

Hello Community,

I've got a bad problem. Some time ago I've installed Yosemite Beta on an Mobile Hard Disk for Testing and deleting my HDD with Mavericks. So I deleted my Mac HD and got only the Yosemite Beta. And then I rebooted - But Yosemite didn't load. So I installed my Product CD with Snow Leopard on my Mac HD for that I've got something.

Now I've got:

- My Laptop with Windows 7

- My iMac with Snow Leopard (10.5)

My Question now is: How can I reinstall Mavericks without the Mac App Store? On Leopard isn't any.

Seen logic it isn't illegal that someone would give me the InstallESD.dmg of Mavericks, when I buyed at it some time inside of App Store, I think - But real I don't know.

So it would be really nice if somebody would upload the InstallESD.dmg at some FileSharing-Host and give me the link here - Or has anybody another idea?

Cheers,

main99

PS: I'm very sorry for my bad Englisch - I'm from Germany.

Previous Mac OS installs get hidden in the Mac App store.

You need to unhide your purchases then you ca nredownlaod Mavericks.

See this -> Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store.

I've installed Yosemite Beta on an Mobile Hard Disk for Testing and deleting my HDD with Mavericks.

😟

That's not how to do beta software.

Create a new partiton/use another drive and install beta and boot from that.

Do NOT delete your current OS.

Now I've got:

- My Laptop with Windows 7

- My iMac with Snow Leopard (10.5)

10.5 isn't Snow Leopard, it's just Leopard. 10.6.x is Snow Leopard. Yes, the cat names can be confusing.

If you don't own a copy of Snow Leopard, you'll first have to purchase a DVD from Apple.

Once you have the disk, install Snow Leopard (which will be 10.6.3 on the disk), then download and install the 10.6.8 Combo updater. That will get the App Store on the drive. From there, you can login to your App Store account, download and install Mavericks.

Let's step back a minute for some clarification:

- Exactly what iMac do you have, what year and what Mac OS X came installed on it?

- Are you sure you purchased Mac OS X DVD for 10.5 at the Apple on-line store? They do not have 10.5 any longer and only sell 10.6 on a DVD.

- If your iMac is a 2010 model then it will not be able to install the on-line Apple store 10.6 DVD. That DVD is for Mac OS X 10.6.3, the Macs built in 2010 came with 10.6.6 preinstalled.

- If your iMac is a 2010 model you will have to call Apple support, 1-800-MY-APPLE, and give them the serial number of the iMac and order a replacement DVD for that machine - that will be a DVD with 10.6.6 specific to your iMac.

That Mac did indeed come with 10.5.x, and will run everything up to Yosemite. That the Snow Leopard DVD keeps being kicked back out means one of two of the more likely problems.

1) The drive is dirty. Specifically, there's a lot of dust on the lens. Though that's not normally an issue for a vertically mounted drive. There are optical drive cleaning disks you can purchase. They look like any other CD or DVD, but have a small brush glued to the surface.

2) The drive is faulty. Do you have an external CD/DVD drive you can try the Snow Leopard disk with? If not, they're pretty darn cheap. Typically $20 at Best Buy for an external USB drive.
