Q: My iPhone 5s has completely locked up with the iOS8.0.2 update. PLEASE HELP!

I connected my iPhone 5s to iTunes this am and it prompted me to install the iOS 8.0.2 update, which, like an idiot, I accepted.

Now my phone has the screen telling me to connect to iTunes. When I connect to iTunes it says I have to restore my phone. RESTORE? So to keep my idiot streak rolling, I chose to restore now it is giving me an error (4005) and wont restore and my screen is still locked up and I am just sitting here....like an idiot.

Can someone please help me...not be an idiot.

Try a reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see the Apple Logo. Wait and see if that works Since iphone 4 I never use a PC to update iphone/ iPad Always use wifi Bsydd uk

Not to disagree with Briansyddall, I always use iTunes to update my devices. I have a 5S and did not experience any issues with iOS8 updates.

There were/are some issues with Windows (PC) and iPhone. Not sure if that is past but there was an update on Windows for iCloud which was one issue also.

As long as: there is more than enough free space for the download/install/update (which with file compression may seem like a lot of wasted space), and you have backup - either should be fine.

Well, I've never experienced any issues with any of my phones and Windows. I use Windows 7, and have a 5S. I appreciate your response.
