Purchased songs from iTunes, they show up in my iTunes Library but they will not drag onto my iPod Nano nor will they synch to the Nano even though the Nano indicates synching is taking place. Confirmed my PC is authorized. There must be a setting somewhere.... never had this problem before, but it's been over a year since I have purchased music from iTunes. Do not get any error message.

I have the same problem. I tried manually telling it to add songs one by one and that did not work. I have a 6th gen. Also, half of the music I purchased is not showing up on a different computer (I tried it on two different computers)
