ipad 2 wont turn on shows apple logo then goes black

i cant get my ipad 2, ios 8, which *****, turn back on... reset it then the apple logo comes up for a few mins then screen turns black....I have tried this several times it is fully charged. have not tried connecting to iTunes yet but does anyone have any suggestions other than hold the sleep/wake button & menu till apple logo appears...then what? only black screen.... now whenever I push either of those buttons logo comes up then black screen!

It was almost useless after the update to IOS 8, with all of its really bad issues, Now it is rendered COMPLETELY USELESS!!!!!

HELP!!!
