Sep 30, 2014 10:28 PM in response to lvetolafby Shane Ross,HD...but not the format of HD that is widely supported. It's HD DVD...only discontinued Toshiba HD DVD players, other macs with these drives, and XBOX 360 game systems play them. HD DVD lost the war to BluRay. You'll need to get a BluRay burner to burn a high def disk that's supported.

Oct 1, 2014 12:03 AM in response to lvetolafby Ian R. Brown,If you have FCP 7 or FCP X you can burn AVCHD discs.
These are burned on normal cheap DVDs, are Blu-ray quality and play on most BD players.
The only downside is that you can only get about 40 minutes of full quality on a DVD but you can reduce the bit rate if you need longer and it will still be better than SD.
