Q: I want my money back !

I Paid good money for iPhoto on my iPad. Now because Apple has released IOS 8 iPhoto no longer works. Don't bother saying it's not supported, it worked fine in IOS 7 so your IOS 8 is at fault. If you can't make an operating system that works with your own apps what hope do you have of keeping faith with youR customers. I want my money back for the IPhoto pro app I paid for. Steve W Australia.

    For any non-support issues, you'd have to contact Apple sales directly;

for volunteer peer support and user-to-user help, these ASC discussions

can be helpful; but sometimes not so much...

    iPhoto for iOS

Did you try the upgrade path to Photos in iOS8+ since iPhoto is not longer

supported? The following article, and additional ones near bottom, can be

of assistance to see what may be needed to still use your photo capability

in the iDevices using iOS8.0 and forward.

Sorry that you've had issue with how the iOS upgrade process has occurred.

it worked fine in IOS 7 so your IOS 8 is at fault

Apps are written for a specific operating system. iOS 8 is a completely redesigned operating system and the image processing parts of the system have been replaced by different frameworks.

Have a look at what has changed in iOS 8. http://www.apple.com/ios/developer/

The basic frameworks, that support image editing apps and any graphics apps have been completely replaced by newer frameworks, for example PhotoKit. Also, the Photos.app and its library are very different, with the Camera Roll being replaced by the "Recent Activity" album.

iPhoto used the older version of "Photos" to access all photos on the device and did not store them separately. The code would have needed to be completely rewritten. Probably, Apple did not want to develop iPhoto a second time, in addition to the new "Photos", but is relying on the third party developers to supplement Photos with extensions:

    PhotoKit

Developers can enable their photo apps to edit photos directly in the Camera Roll without having to import them first.

    Photo Editing

Developers can embed their filters and editing tools directly into the Photos app. So you could apply third‑party effects to images without leaving the app where you view your photos.

    Absolutely full ack.

and further more: I want apple to make this iPhoto working again because they destroyed two years of my work of a webjournal!

    really really ironic reply.

how can't you see that the thread opener is missing the functionality of iPhoto due to the upgrade to iOS 8?

BTW: the mentioned "how to upgrade" is one of the worst jokes ever.

The "how to upgrade" tells exactly, what will be missing after the migration. Only when the URL is shown after the iOS8 upgrade, it will be too late. Then upgrade to iOS 8 has already occurred, and there is no way back.

Yes, as I already said: the worst joke.

Because it tells you that you will have lost your work and not how you can migrate and keep your work successfully.

You do realize that you are NOT speaking to Apple, right?

This is a user forum. Apple does not participate here.

Perhaps you should actually read the terms of use.

Apple does not participate here. Ranting to us will not accomplish anything.

You can use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page to provide feedback to Apple.

There's nobody here but us users... We can't give you your money back or make Apple do anything.

I already contacted Apple of course. What do you think?

And what does your personal experiences with Apples support tell you about issues that are "as they are" from Apples point of view but you can't accept?

Is it impossible to find and activate other users which are unsatisfied with the webjournal-gate?

I hope the terms of use do not forbid Apple to participate here - where the users tell what's on their mind.

Why don't you try reading them... Then you would know instead of having to "hope".
