Oct 3, 2014 1:10 PM in response to DPerlby cmfhb,★HelpfulMy iPad is also doing weird things since updating. It won't start. The Apple logo comes on the screen and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. When I plug it in it does not respond at all. I just keep pushing buttons, holding down the home button and start button together and after many frustrating minutes it starts (though it blinks a few times first). It has worked flawlessly for a few years until I updated to IOS 8. I know this is a software issue because my iPhone 4s has also had issues since updating. I don't think there is a solution, at least not one we can come up with. Unfortunately we just have to wait until Apple issues more updates.

Oct 4, 2014 3:23 AM in response to cmfhbby DPerl,Have you actually tried the erase and restore procedure outlined earlier in thread using iTunes on your Mac or PC?
It has cleared out our devices and solved most of these problems for many of us.
i am happily using ios8 on my ipad2-16gb now after having a frustrating experience when I first updated and it ruined the functionality of my iPad.

Oct 7, 2014 5:32 AM in response to DPerlby Andrewleeck ,My ipad 2 no service cellular problem solved.
I updated 8.0.2 thru wifi direct from my iPad, the no service actually appear again after few hours.
How I solve this issue.
1) Sync your iPad via iTunes on your PC (make sure you install the latest itunes) be sure to "BACK UP" your iPad
2) After backup, restore your iPad to factory settings. Finished! restore all your iPad contents.
3) Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services and switch off Mobile network search
Thats it! Hope this help you guys.

Oct 7, 2014 8:45 AM in response to Andrewleeckby WillyBill65,I have had this problem of crashing for over a week now.. Ipad 4 locked into recovery mode with 'BSOD" .Apple support spent two hours attempting repair, removing all apple prodcuts from my pc, sharing the pc screen, was unable to restore the ipad. I was persistent with Black screen of death, and finally after pressing 'sleep' and 'home' keys together multiple times, was able to boot and and did a full restore. This did not work and support set up an appointment with the Apple store and a 'Apple Genius" did a full restore in the store from an imac. He restored it to a new ipad, which lost all settings, stored pics, docs and game stats.
System crashed when I got home with the apple logo on the screen, and a lot of 'panic' type text on the screen. It did however, start up. I then did a backup to icloud, and painfully re-loaed and re set-up all of my apps. Had one crash reboot yesterday, another this morning while browsing contacts.
This is an OS problem and the sooner APPLE recognizes it and creates a new version, the better off we will all be. Until then, user community: get used to crashes and re-boots.

Oct 7, 2014 7:59 PM in response to earthacademyby mikofausto,I have the exact same problem. I updated my Ipad 2 to ios 8.0.2 and have truckloads of problems. First, my ipad won't load the apps, it would ask me for my password each time and then it would reboot. Next, it keeps rebooting for no apparent reason, as of the moment, it has been rebooting for 3 straight days. I have tried the reset restore and everything you could find in forums to no avail. Funny thing is, it seems that my battery doesn't drain out since it is on an endless loop of rebooting. The ipad was perfectly ok before this whole ios 8 fiasco. My worry now, is how will I be able to update the ios should the latest fix come out, since it won't stop restarting.

Oct 8, 2014 2:17 PM in response to DPerlby CharliSinn,I have been having the same issues, with my ipad 2 randomly and frequently "respringing", sometimes 1x a day, other times 10x a day! It has made using my ipad pretty ineffective! I'm pretty comfortable with doing things on it, so I've done a complete restore to an original ipad a few times, just to see if that helped the issue and it hasn't. My husband has an ipad 2 as well and isn't haven't any respringing issues like me. What is the deal??? Apple, we need your help!

Oct 8, 2014 10:23 PM in response to mikofaustoby mikofausto,My ipad seems working already, though there are no installed apps yet. What I did was I allowed to keep on rebooting until the battery was drained. Then I just charged with the default charger.

Oct 13, 2014 8:20 AM in response to CharliSinnby VinceCharming,CharliSinn,
you'd be wasting your breath going to the Apple Store they sat with me for about 30 mins, doing numerous restores, set as new device etc, told me that it was obviously a Hardware fault.
At which point I became quite vocal and informed them then that I'd like them to downgrade my iOS 8 to iOS 7 as it worked fine when this was the operating system, to which they replied that they could not as iOS 7 was not being digitally signed any more.
My reply was well how do you know its a hardware fault, if you aren't even going to test it by reinstally iOS 7 ?
No answer was given to that they just said they'd try a DFU Mode restore, which seemed to work, so I then left the Apple Store and within about an hour of getting home, guess what, it started looping and crashing again . .
Only thing Apple are will to do about the problem is sell you a new iPad . . .
I suspect that some of our American friends however might resort to a class action, because that's what I'd do next . .
Wonder how long it is before they delete this post

Oct 13, 2014 8:31 AM in response to VinceCharmingby WillyBill65,I have done ALL of these things, and multiple times. In fact, Apple Store 'Geniuses' actually restored my iPad for me back to NEW, at which time I had to re-load nearly 40 apps and subsequently lost all settings for those apps.. The iPad is still re-booting with no particular regularity. Twice this morning, while looking at Fbook. One time, before going to the Apple store, the iPad went into recovery mode and could NOT be restored by telephone support people after two hours on the phone !. This is a particularly annoying problem and since our iPad is not even a year old, very disappointing. APPLE< PLEASE< FIX<THIS<PROBLEM>

They did the same to me restore like a new device, then after installing any apps, tried different sequences and different apps to install and still keeps crashing and rebooting.
At least it's not just me who has this problem and eventually apple will have to resolve the issue, my next port of call is Citizens Advice Bureau and then I intend to take them to the Small Claims Court for selling me a product that now appears not to be fit for purpose, its now nothing more that a paperweight or over large place mat.

Oct 14, 2014 12:28 AM in response to DPerlby Soleilsansfin,My IPad 2 with iOS 8 Installed crashes. The genius couldn't fix it. This is the last Apple product I will buy until Apple fixes the problem they created. In the meantime I will research competitors products for a replacement and I will sign up to the class action suit being discussed in this forum. I do not want to be an Apple customer if this is the way they disrespect their customers.
Woolie
