Unable to purchase iPhone 6 with Verizon carrier from Apple store online and have it shipped

I'm trying to purchase an iPhone 6 as an upgrade from the Apple store online with Verizon as my carrier and have it shipped to me since there are no stores around with any in stock. When I try and do that I get an error message that says "based on the information you provided we are unable to fulfill your order online and it must be purchased in a store." That's not the exact message but its pretty close. It says something about Verizon may requre a deposit to purchase the phone but I've been a customer of theirs for 13 years and I've never had to pay a deposit to buy a phone. I know they sometimes charge a security deposit to open a new contract and I don't even know if they do that anymore. Is anyone else having this issue? I would normally just buy it through Verizon but I traded my iPhone 5 in at the Apple store to use that towards buying my new phone so now I have an Apple gift card that I can't use to buy it from Verizon. Thanks!

Contact Verizon and explain the issue. Apple's online store checks with the carrier selected when someone attempts an online purchase, so there must be something Verizon has in your account that is causing this.

I did. Verizon is claiming its not them, that its Apple saying that. After what I went through with Verizon this weekend I don't believe that for a second. Verizon said it was because the line was new and we had to wait 24 hours before they could process an upgrade on the line. So we waited and tried again, still got the same message. I was in the Apple store this past weekend trying to get a phone and the general consensus I got was that it was nothing but a headache when a Verizon phone had to be activated. An Apple store employee had to call in to Verizon, verify it was them, and answer all kinds of security questions. My boyfriend went through the same thing when he bought his.

I'm sorry, but since this is a user to user forum, there isn't anyone here who can solve this. I still believe it's a Verizon issue and I'd call customer care and escalate it.
