Firefox

Hey guys,

i have the following problem:

The MacBook Pro (Late 2013) of my workmate crashes every day.

If that's happen, there is a screen with a crash-message and then the MacBook restart's.

I think, the Mozilla Firefox could be reason for the crashes.

Firefox was every time started, when the crash was happened.

Another workmate had the same problem and fixed with stop using the firefox.

The problem is: They don't want to use another browser, until they're not sure that the firefox is the reason for the crashes.

Have anyone the same problem? Or an idea how to fix it? Or an idea what's the reason for that?

Hope you understand me - Just a stupid, german Sauerkraut.

Thank's for help!

Klimbo

I've been using Firefox for years without the problem you're describing. It's possible that there are issues with the localized version they're using but I doubt it.

Do you know where they're getting Firefox from? This is a reliable download source for Firefox that also offers a version which is kept current with security updates but isn't otherwise constantly changing the way the standard release version is. Firefox can also be customized with a wide variety of extensions and some they're using may not play well together.

The rest of the report may be handy to see more of what is affected

by this Kernel Panic message...

Note the information can cover a bit of ground when attempting to

resolve causes of a kernel panic, since troubleshooting takes time.

•Technical Note TN2063: Understanding and Debugging Kernel Panics

https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/technotes/tn2063/_index.html

•Resolving Kernel Panics - generic info from xlab:

http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html

Hardware can be a cause of kernel panic, so can mis-matched software.

Some times both could contribute to the situation & generate a report.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
