transfer music from iphone to iphone

Hi

I have just got the new iPhone 6 after having the iPhone 4. What I can't manage to do is get the music from my old phone to my new phone. I have it in my iTunes library but there is a lot more music in there than I want on on my phone. I just want what was on my iPhone 4.

How am I supposed to do this?

Hi

Thanks for the reply, but that's not quite what I want to do.

  1. Old iPhone 4 has selected songs from my iTunes on
  2. New iPhone 6 has nothing on
  3. Want to just transfer the music from my iPhone 4 onto my iPhone 6 so I don't have to reselect out of iTunes.

To get the same songs from my iTunes to my iPhone 6 would take a long time.

I have tried a couple of 3rd party software programs, but still no joy

Does this make sense?

One way to do it is to back up the old phone to your computer, then connect the new phone and restore that backup. This only works if you don't have information on your new phone that you want to preserve as restoring a backup overwrites everything. See: Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device

Beyond that there's no easy way that I can think of if you didn't plan for this ahead of time by managing your phone's content with playlists.
