Set VoiceMail Password iPhone 6

Hi folks.

If I remember correctly, there was a way to modify your phone number stored in the iPhone 4 that allowed you to bypass the password, as it's set in the phone number for your voicemail:

416-555-1212,,1234

555-1212: Voicemail phone number

,,: Pauses at 3 seconds per comma

1234: Voicemail password

So when you call voicemail, it sends a pause, then the voicemail password. Then you are into the main menu.

Can this be done with iPhone 6?

You don't enter a password when you call voicemail from you own phone.

and your suggestion is not bypassing the password.

Just call 611 and remove the password (though I don’t recommend this).

Then that leaves my voicemail open. Bypassing it on the phone is much more secure.

I don't recall any way to do that with any iPhone. As I use visual voicemail exclusively it has never bothered me. If you know the number for voicemail you can just create a contact for it, add it to Favorites, and call voicemail that way. If your carrier uses your own number for voicemail that will work also the same way.
