Since MSN has changed their website layout, Safari for MAC's won't display it correctly. Message says browser is outdated.

Works fine on my IPAD air.

Hi ..

Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.

Click: Remove All Website Data

Then delete the cache.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.

From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

Performed suggested steps you've indicated which resulted in no change to the MSN Homepage layout, a layout which simply lists topics running down the left side of the page with the "You are using an outdated browser. Please upgrade to the latest version for the best MSN experience." message at the top - which is not the proper format as provided by the MS IE browser.

Apple, specifically Safari personnel need to research this issue with microsoft personnel and find a resolution - at least notify Apple Safari users here indicating that they are aware of the issue and are pursuing a resolution.

To have Apple see your request, you need to repost it at

I don't think it is realistic to imagine that Apple is going to spend any time updating Safari 6, if that is what you are asking. Either MS will have to change its web page to make it compatible with old browsers, or you have to use another browser or upgrade your OS so you can use a later Safari. The current OS is 10.9.5 and most users will move to 10.10 in a few weeks.
