Q: Unable to Activate iPhone 6 Verizon
Received my iPhone in the mail today. I tried activating it multiple times different ways (see below) and I still have an iPhone that is useless.
I contacted Apple and spent about 30 minutes with them. They then patched me to Verizon where I spent another two hours. No luck.
Here are the approaches I took and the results:
On WI-FI:
- prompted to enter my billing zip code
- prompted to enter last four digits of my SSN
- after pressing Next, received the following error:
- "Verizon Wirless was unable to verify your identity using the information you entered. It could be as simple as a typo. Please re-check your information and try again"
- Yes, I tried multiple times and yes, I entered the right info
Over Cellular:
- never prompted to enter anything
- right away said:
- "Could Not Activate iPhone"
- "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or tray again over the cellular connection in a couple of minutes. You can also try to activate using a WI-FI connection. If this problem persists contact Apple Support at apple.com/support"
- "Could Not Activate iPhone"
Tried via iTunes:
- went through the same process as the aforementioned steps in "On WI-FI" and got the same results
Tried Get help activating your iPhone
- Ended up restoring (If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch) which had to download 8.0.2
- I went through the above three ways to tray and activate and no luck
Anyone have any other ideas?
