Q: After updating my iPhone 4S to IOS 8.0.2 I still cannot send mail.
I lost email sending capability after installing iOS 8.0.1. I also lost access to one of my apps. After installing iOS 8.02 this morning (10/2/14) I have access to the app but still cannot send any email. I get message: "Cannot Send Mail" "The user name or password for “SMPT ********** " is incorrect."
I have deleted and reinstalled the email server information 3 times and still get the message. Anyone with a solution please contact me at the above email address. Thank you.

Every email account requires TWO login IDs and passwords. One for the incoming server and a separate one for the outgoing (SMTP) server. Usually (but not always) these are the same for incoming and outgoing, but even if they are the same you must enter them twice. If you get the message you posted this means that the outgoing server has rejected your user ID, password, or you didn't enter them. It has nothing to do with the iPhone, which is just passing the message from the server back to you.
