Oct 12, 2014 3:36 PM in response to Scott1610by Star Traveler,The issue isn't about "over the air" or not, because there's no question that data is transmitted correctly and completely over the air. No ... the issue comes down to whether one should upgrade from a previous version or upgrade clean. With computers I've always favored a clean upgrade versus one over the top of a previous version. "Over the air" has nothing to do with it. I advise doing it "clean" and "fresh" at all times, except for bug fixes. And then if you see problems, with that bug fix, then go to a clean update.

Oct 12, 2014 3:40 PM in response to Star Travelerby Scott1610,Would you accept that the installer could be better? That it could work correctly doing an in place upgrade; without the hassle of a reinstall?
do you really think the installer is perfect when it fails so easily?

Oct 12, 2014 3:45 PM in response to petermac87by Scotty50,For al of the people recommending to go the Genius Bar , I have my third appointment to go to the Geius Bar tomorrow with the problems of upgrading to iOS 8, iOS 8.01 and iOS 8.02 on a iPad 2, without any success, nothing but a lot of excuses.

Oct 12, 2014 3:46 PM in response to Scott1610by Star Traveler,In my 30+ years with computers, it's ALWAYS better to do a clean install rather than one over the top of an older version -- no matter how good the installer. I don't think the installer over the top of an old version can ever be better than a clean install.

Fry Chief (or whoever) would have had his posts removed by the forum moderators for breaking the Terms Of Use that everyone agrees to when joining these Forums. He will be in receipt of an email as to why. If you continue to support or if you repeat whatever he posted, then your posts will most likely be removed as well. Star Traveler can not remove the posts, nor can I.

Oct 12, 2014 10:41 PM in response to Chicochopsby kenwynfromsan tan valley,Hello I too were having the same issues with my iPad 2 after updating to ios8. I've been so frustrating with the following issues with safari:
1. I hate how every time u have multiple tabs open i safari and u jump from one tab to the next u have to wait until it reloads.
2. Browsing in Safari is super slow n choppy response
3. Browser locks ips and freezes
4. I have trouble trying to copy text in a browser window
WELL I have a solution for everyone and it has seem to fix the issues listed above.
these setting will work for iPad and iPhone 5 or 5s.
The issue is caused with Google browser n changing your browser will fix the issues listed above.
GO to settings then safari then search engine then select any OTHER search engine other than google.
I personally use duckduckGO n works great.
i Hope this helps others out there as we all love our Apple products n with the current update we have all thought WHAT the **** Apple was thinking when they release IOS 8 before making sure the small stuff like this works perfect

Apple TVI haven't noticed the problems that you list are as severe as indicated, but there have been some minor issues. No. 1 doesn't happen with me unless I'm using up too much RAM with too many other apps at the same time, using it up. I clear the apps and squeeze the memory down and I'm okay.
On No. 2 ... I haven't noticed that.
On No. 3 ... it happens, but not very much ... just once in a while.
On No. 4 ... no problem there.
However, I'll give it a try and see if it makes any difference with what I do see on mine.

Of course you can't believe it, because it is not true (please stop accusing others of things they can not do, it's tacky of you)
Only the moderators can remove posts, you are completely wrong.

Oct 15, 2014 7:41 AM in response to Crabapple11by teleblues,Ditto here - 8.0.2 has wrecked my iPad 2 32g. Huge lag time on all touch actions, even the swipe to open from my lock screen. Thank god I didn't update my iPhone 5. I beta tested Yosemite and reverted to Mavericks after one day it was so buggy. Apple is really blowing it.

Oct 15, 2014 9:58 AM in response to telebluesby Star Traveler,Did you try the reset to Factory Default (and not reload your backup, so to test it)? When you do that, see if the problems go away, or if they persist. If they do persist in that state, then it's the tIke to show it to Apple (without your backup on there) and have them address that issue. Several users here on this forum have reported theit iPad being replaced by Apple, which must have been some kind of hardware issue.
