Oct 15, 2014 12:43 PM in response to telebluesby petermac87,You beta tested for one day and found bugs in Yosemite? I hope you reported them to Apple as you agreed to when joining their beta testing program, and you should also know that the NAD you agreed to does not allow you to discuss that beta software anywhere but in the developers forum.

Of Firewire on iOS devices? Cannot make something obsolete that never existed.

A musician you may be but you did not lose FireWire on your iPad, you never had it.
Pretty poor test if you ask me.

Oct 16, 2014 4:05 AM in response to Star Travelerby daisychain01,Hi Star Traveler,
Please could you help me with some further information about resetting my iPad2 back to "factory settings" as a way of curing many of the iOS8 problems I'm having (seems like it isn't just me!)
Are there any risks or things I need to be aware of, before I take that step? I have already got rid of loads of old Apps I never use, and tried to down-size as much as possible. Also I can offload and delete quite a lot of images if that helps.
Just wanting a bit more information about the pro-s and con-s and how likely that factory reset solution is to sort out the general poor performance, lack of responsiveness and lag I'm seeing on my trusty iPad2, which I've used really successfully for over 2 years now. I've looked after it as well, so I don't want to have to get rid, before trying to sort out the problem.
many thanks!

Oct 16, 2014 9:01 AM in response to Skaterooby Skateroo,Yesterday I took my iPad 2 to the Genius Bar & after discussing my concerns they did a diagnostic test on my iPad 2 ... It passed that test with flying colours.
I was told that there was nothing that they could do until the new update was available!! I won't get into the discusision that followed but that's the status of my visit!

Oct 17, 2014 2:56 AM in response to Chicochopsby hukhan00,Upgraded to 8.02 and bricked my iPad 2. Any denial or blaming this on users or somehow users not being savvy enough is ridiculous. Apple has made its name above all on UX and excellence of software and hardware integration.
Between the icloud celebrity leaks directly attributable to not enabling 2 factor authentication on time to upgrades that brick their products that are on offer on their store Apple's going through a rough patch. A true Apple supporter calls it like it is and raises voices on all forums so that the sentiment trickles up. Trying to sugarcoat it or manage traffic to appropriate forums doesnt detract from the sloppiest iPad upgrade in history. The thread shows up number 1 in Search Engines when you search for this issue. People angry are the ones searching. They'll let their feelings be known. Deal with it.
And Pete your misplaced shallow self righteousness aside there is nothing more annoying then signing off a forum post with your name when you have a username ffs.
