I just took a bunch of stuff off my ipad 2 yesterday just to upgrade to IOS 8 and now my ipad won't start and can't be "found" on ITunes (when I tried to restore it)!  I am so angry and frustrated right now because there's no way this should of happened! My Ipad was working just fine with the IOS 7 but now I can't even use it!  What the heck Apple?  I am such a loyal user of Apple products and I cannot believe this happened where my ipad is now basically dead!  It's not right and apple needs to fix this problem and get my ipad operable again!

My iPad mini has become unresponsive and sluggish since downloading IOS 8. Apple has become incompetent since Jobs passed away. This is also a scam so that you purchase the new iPad. I'll never buy another Apple product again.

Unfortunately the arrogance off Apple and its fanboys will be the downfall for them.   Years ago I bought into the Apple ethos of "it just works" vs the competiton ........ How times change

My iPad Mini works fine on IOS 8, maybe it's my 'arrogance' that causes yours not to.

Erase and restore it, use iTunes for the task.

LOL ... I would say the arrogance is on your side and others like you.

BUT, if you really want to say something to Apple, here is where Apple will "hear" what you are saying!

    Apple Support

BUT ... if you're interested ... Apple came out with some bug fixes today!

Re: Report on the NEW iOS 8.1 Revision Today

HOWEVER, since you're currently having problems, it might pay for you to do a "clean install" and reset to factory default through your iTunes program. That way you won't install this over some corrupted files that may be in your system ... and be sure to do your backups first!

I'm still on 8.0.2, haven't had time to upgrade yet. No hurry, it's working now.

    Star Traveler,

i have taken the time to Apple Feedback  and Apple Suuport days ago and have not received any response. I also have installed iOS 8.1 on Monday and still having the same problems, it is quite obvious that Apple is not concerned with the problems that customers are having with the upgrade to iOS 8, on iPad 2.

If you actually did go to "Feedback" then you already saw that Apple says, right on the very page that you enter your feedback - that they do not reply to Feedback. Feedback is not a discussion, but it IS "Feedback" directed at Apple. Go back and look at that again.

For Apple Support ... do a phone call and you'll get a hold of them. If you don't want to wait on the line for your turn to come up, then do the "call back" feature that they have. I've done both, waited on the line until my turn has come up ... and ... I've used the call back feature. Both have worked beautifully and I've had no problem. And the thing about the phone is that it is "direct" and it is "immediate".

Now, I've also use the chat feature, too, and that worked wonderfully for me. They even sent me a copy of my chat for future reference, as I had a ticket number that was closed, but that I could open up again (as I said I thought I might have to do) and they were glad for me to do that, and that's why they sent my "chat" back to me, for future reference in case I did have to reopen the case.

I've used Apple Support quite a few times and have never had a problem with them. And all my responses have been immediate.

That's why I mention the phone to you, because then you absolutely know that you're going to be talking to a person.

wow, after reading this thread there is simply NO way I am updating, not to 8, 12 etc...I have been thru this too many times,  No Mas'......

I suspect what it appears star traveler and some others don't seem to really get is; we are tired, I am an old school Apple guy.....Apple ( speaking thru its products and updates as it only really can)  has taken on many of the lets say appurtenances/appearances & public reactions of 'hated' star wars Imperial Microsoft, I have been here in the Valley from virtually the beginning, so,  I know it when I see it.

When the responses to frustration at the customer level ( and VALID frustration to boot) is; do a factory reset ( fraught with the usual pitfalls) or visit the genius bar ( seriously??) , or go to the sppt. page ( where-in you cannot even Email sppt)= the only really viable solution other than waiting them out for an update to the update....... I think the shark has been jumped.

Did I mention the 12 update I played with on my sons Ipad? Hes an 'I-drone' if there ever was one, he says ( and I pretty much concur) its non intuitive and basically useless in that it enacts appearance/manipulation changes etc. but deliver few if any real functional advances that make it worthwhile....what does that sound like?

it sounds Exactly like the very same arguments folks made against MS for years ( AND rightly so).....welcome to the Dark Side Mr. Cook.

Well isn't it lucky that Mr Cook and Co are not catering just for 'old Apple

guys' or we would still be running Claris on  9 gb Drive.

Rant all you like, but why would anyone expect a new IOS OS OSX with no changes? And continually?? That is just ranting for the sake of ranting. If you don't like Apples path then don't follow it.

    Bye
