Nov 23, 2014 5:24 PM in response to bobseufertby amember,Bob, I'm glad you told me that...it wouldn't have even crossed my mind. But there's lots of stuff on my iPad 2 that I'd sure hate to lose. They probably won't give me more than $25 to $50 for it anyway. I have Dropbox but have always been totally confused between Apple's dropbox and the one on the Net and how to get files on it. So I haven't put anything on it in a couple years. Thanks again!

Nov 23, 2014 6:11 PM in response to Chicochopsby Ralph9430,The title of your question causes some confusion. There is no iOS 8.2 yet. The versions of iOS 8 are iOS 8, 8.0.1, 8.0.2, 8.1 and 8.1.1.
If by chance you really meant 8.0.2 instead of 8.2 then I recommend that you update to the latest version currently available which is iOS 8.1.1.

Nov 23, 2014 6:21 PM in response to bobseufertby spalady1,I Got it to un zoom, using the 3 finger technique, but when I go to settings, I can not get zoom to turn off. I am ok with that now that I know how to unzoom but it would be nice to just shut it off.

Nov 23, 2014 7:00 PM in response to amemberby Cbiz50,i purchased an iPad Air this week. I was offered a trade-in for my IPad 2. I did not expect it. I took the offer which was $85.00. This amount was applied to the iPad Air cost. Very important to back up before you trade in your old iPad. I assumed my photos were backed up. I was devastated to find (later that night) that nothing had transferred over. The procedure is to wipe your old iPad clean. Your data should show up on your new iPad. My photos did not. I made an appt.for the Genius Bar fearing that I had lost my photos. The Apple tech verified that my photos were gone for good.
Please do take the backup advice seriously. I am sure I did something with the settings after upgrading to IOS 8. As you all know from this thread the iPad 2 needed some help after the upgrade. I never went back to make sure my backups were current. My fault.

Nov 23, 2014 7:08 PM in response to Cbiz50by amember,That's a nightmare. I need a course on backing up things. I'm sorry you lost your pictures! I think I'll just keep my iPad 2 until I can be sure everything is transferred over. I sure wish the store would do transfers for us.

Nov 23, 2014 7:12 PM in response to Cbiz50by petermac87,Yes, one of the most common mistakes made in backing up iPads and iPhones is that when attached to the computer you should make sure that you back all your photos up to iPhoto. Very quick, very simple and saves a lot of heartbreak down the track.
Just another suggestion in good faith
Cheers

Nov 23, 2014 7:29 PM in response to spalady1by bobseufert,Try settings> general> accessibility> on the botton line accessibility short cut> tap zoom. Now you can turn zoom on/off by triple clicking the home button.

Nov 26, 2014 5:18 PM in response to Star Travelerby Clps1157,BUll. We shouldn't have to spend HOURS looking for a fix. You like defending them, then go somewhere you can find an audience, because IT'S NOT HERE.

Nov 26, 2014 5:28 PM in response to Djwukby Clps1157,EXactly. But because they won't, they have lost me as a customer. Apparently they have plenty of saps who will defend and buy their junk every two years. They don't care about the issues we are having. They maintain the reason they will not support 7 is because they don't want to support it. But they aren't even supporting this, pathetic os, now are they.
RIdiculous. Not a dime to Apple ever.

You missed the part about not assuming when dealing with a backup. Always look for yourself.

Jan 6, 2015 9:51 PM in response to Chicochopsby compthis,Apple destroyed my Ipad and Iphone 4S as well with IOS 8. My wife and I bought iphone 4S's near the same time and she is still running very old software. Her phone runs amazing and mine is at snail speeds as is the Ipad. I deleted both as new and nothing helps. I looked for a fix but its obvious apple is forcing us to spend money on new hardware. I will never by another Apple product again.
