Same.  This is absolutely ridiculous.  Time for a solution other than "buy a new one."  I'm on hold with Apple Cust. Svc. now - at least my hold time is 'only' 10 minutes.  No problems at all with iOS 7.  After upgrading to iOS 8, my iPad 2 is basically useless.

Did you read how many other users solved their issue in the post above?

I totally agree with your cheerleading. Apple has geniuses in every town in America, and they can do no wrong. Neither can the corporation they work for, which as we all know doesn't have a massive PR machine to handle misguided upgrades and other consumer nightmares. The geniuses are very willing to help as long as the problem you have is covered in their manuals. If they actually have to do any real diagnostics they're lost. But apple can do no wrong.

I put Ios8.2 on my ipad, and it's a disaster. I've tried a lot of the fixes listed here and in other support forums. None worked. I refuse to upgrade my phone because of the disaster on my ipad. I doubt I'll upgrade to Yosemite. After the 8 disaster, the 7 disaster, and the 6 hiccups, I can't trust the quality of these products anymore. About a month ago, I was going to get the iphone 6. Now I wouldn't buy one with your money.

I'm sick of itunes, I'm sick of geniuses, and I'm sick of cheerleaders.

On the other hand, if I switch companies, I won't be a hipster any longer with my cool apple gadgets and self-righteous attitude, but I'll be able to go back to eating meat and driving something beside a Prius.

Thanks so much for this link, petermac87.  I followed the instructions that Bmeadors gave, and it helped tremendously.

The situation where a certain number have problems (and we see that more and more are actually solving their problems here) ... that doesn't mean that all or even most or even a "plurality" of users are having a problem. Every major upgrade always produces a certain number of glitches from a minority of users. I've seen that from my 30+ years of experience (and the 7 years for iOS, too). That ALWAYS leads to that small minority hollering that "all users are having problems!" ... LOL ... it never fails and it has always been that way. That minority always "projects" to the rest of the user base their own problems.

Now that doesn't mean that this small minority are "not" having problems, which will need to be solved on an individual and case-by-case basis ... but we who have been around a long time have heard this refrain way too long and know it's totally false!

In addition, we are also seeing more and more users here on this forum actually solving their problems by a myriad of different solutions (different ones work for different situations) ... and they now have fully functional and useable iPads under iOS 8.0.2. And this has happened WITHOUT Apple making a single change to iOS 8.0.2!

Crabapple11, you clearly have not mind-melded yet with our multi-dot forum betters. If you had, you would have realized that your perception that your iPad is now bricked HAD to be an illusion. You see, the fact some users are reporting some improvement after spending hours/days resetting/restoring/chanting PROVES that you are only imagining you still have problems. There CAN'T be a problem with iOS 8.0.2. There just can't. It must be you. Your magic brick can still fly. It...just...kinda...sorta...flies. (Repeat.)

Don't worry some self-proclaimed guardian of the Apple brand will be along in a minute all holier than thou to spout like a stuck record that the "user base" aren't experiencing all these issues.

A quick Google search will show anyone that isn't Apple orientated that this "update" has been a disaster and how out of touch with reality these people are.

There are users here on this forum who have intially reported having problems, and have not had to even call Apple Support or go to a "Genius" in an Apple Store, and were able to solve their initial problem with iOS 8.0.2 ... and have fully functional and running machines! And mind you ... this was all accomplished WITHOUT Apple needing to make a single change to iOS 8.0.2, without the interaction of Apple Support and without the input of a single "Genius" in the Apple Store ... LOL ...

This shows that it's not an inherent problem in iOS 8.0.2 that was causing these problems, from the many reports we're now seeing "solved" - or else they would not be able to run iOS 8.0.2 right now, at this very moment, as we speak. And I'm not even mentioning my situation here ... :-) ...

    Same problem here,

you would think they would test these releases extensively before sending it out into the wild...

So my ipad has been running extremely slow and crappy since ios 8.02 , but today I got a call on my cell while on ipad and after that the ipad is completely frozen . Tried restarting it 5 times and each time all I see is the Apple logo light up and then back to off....

    ***... pretty frusterated,

and so much for accessing personal hotspot from ipad without needing to touch your phone... its BULL, doesn't work.... or I'm dumb...?

I have been a die hard Apple fan since the Mac LCII days, but I expect a little more testing before announcing and releasing features that don't work.. .

Also if iphone 7 gets any bigger I'm out...

Apple please don't alienate your customer base by trying to copy the competition,

Apple is the leader, try to keep it that way....

I don't want to walk around with a giant phone in my pocket....

and I think there are many more people would agree with that statement,

so from 4 to 5 it got bigger, now from 5 to 6 even bigger... ***,

I understand introducing the plus and think it's a great decision, but perhaps keep making a "mini" or at least something that fits nicely in a pocket for a man that doesn't carry a purse...

    anyhow

    thats my 2 cents.....

Rubbish. The amount of responses on this board are representative of an Ant's little toe in the overall user experience. The tens of millions don't seem to be complaining. I know of no one personally that has the issue. So why would I ADMIT to something you are making up and have absolutely no evidence to back your nonsensical claim.

So I certainly won't ADMIT IT unless you provide proof or links to your statements such as  'Most iPad users are having issues with the upgrade'.

Unbelievable how we get such ridiculous claims on these boards.

Tell your feelings to Apple here

    https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Do you think perhaps they are catering for market demand which is why they have sold over 15 million iPhone6 and 6+s in a few short weeks?
