Oct 10, 2014 5:11 PM in response to Brenipadby Star Traveler,Two ways ... (1) do a two-finger pinch, and then you'll see an "x" to use ... (2) click the plus sign at the top right, that will add a secold window, "x-out" the other window.

Thanks so much for this link, petermac87. I followed the instructions that Bmeadors gave, and it helped tremendously.
You are welcome. Bmeadors advice has helped many here solve their issues.
Thank him, not me.

Oct 10, 2014 7:48 PM in response to Chicochopsby Robert Lawton,I'm having the exact same problem.
iTunes 11 stinks.
ios 7 SUCKED.
And ios 8 ruined my iPad 2.
RUINED it.
I hate apple now, not for their upgrades (aka downgrades) but for their denial of/ignoring these issues.

Oct 10, 2014 8:21 PM in response to Chicochopsby kennethfromkingsport,Same situation with my ipad2. Tried everything suggested. Just did a complete restore and wiped my iPad clean. I can tell everyone it's not a storage issue at least on mine. Have the 32gb iPad2 and 24gb showing available. Still just as slow as it was before the reload. Im even having major lag on the key pad typing this post. Have an iPhone 5 also and it's still halfway usable except the wifi speeds are terrible. Only Apple device I have left in good working order is my imac. Not a happy camper anymore with Apple products.

Oct 11, 2014 8:50 AM in response to Lsanby afromgeneve,I can only join the long list of people sharing their disappointment. Dear Apple friends, don't fall into the innovation speed trap. From Facebook I heard the phrase "better done than perfect". I hope this is not becoming a new Apple mantra. Fix the iOS 8 upgrade or give me an option to go back to iOS 7 so my iPad 2 will work again as before.
Thank you!

DesktopsGiven that the guardians of the Apple brand have exonerated iOS 8.02 the issue must be with your devices, at least that's what they would have you believe, however the reality is different. Something they refuse to accept.

Oct 11, 2014 9:01 AM in response to Schrodinger56by Star Traveler,The bottom line is that it IS with individual devices ... a possible corrupted and key file, something scrambled accidentally during installation, possible hardware failure, and even other apps that are not updated which happened to be screwing around with things. Other users here on this forum have been able to get things fixed on their iPads without Apple doing a single thing to change iOS 8.0.2!!
Do the following ...
Back up and Restore your iOS Device with iCloud or iTuneshttp://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Use iTunes to Restore your iOS Device to Factory Settings

See what I mean.
It's all your fault and NOTHING to do with IOS 8.02, when will you learn, be told by your betters.

Oct 11, 2014 10:01 AM in response to Schrodinger56by Star Traveler,If you have an iPad 2 like other users have said they have with this initial problem they had ... and then ... they were able to apply one of the solutions here on this forum ... and ... they can now run iOS 8.0.2 functionally and normally, as they had their iPads running before ... that means ... since your iPad 2 is identical to theirs, yours can also be fixed in similar manner and run normally and functionally ... just like these other users on this forum.
The facts are clear, plain and incontrovertible ... in that the iPad 2's are capable and able to run iOS 8.0.2. Therefore that means yours is able, too. And when a user "realizes that" ... then ... the user works and applies various solutions (which have been given on this forum with good results) until they find that one that functionally works with what their particular problem was.
This is nothing more than straightforward troubleshooting. It works ... :-) ...

You're using logic and are attempting to help people who would rather just complain. A noble effort but possibly hopeless.
