iPhone 6 thickness vs. battery size

Not that anyone asked me, but my preference would have been to make the iPhone 1 mm thicker, move stuff around, and put in a larger battery. My iPhone 5 is thin enough, and I believe there would be a bunch of people more impressed by a huge battery reserve rather than how thin their phone is.

Apple pursues thinnes at the cost of user experience and battery life - the iPad Air 2 is a great example of this. In the case of the iPhone 6, because the device got physically larger, they had more room for a larger battery, despite it being thinner. If they'd kept the same thickness, the battery gains would have been even more significant.

My battery life on my iPhone 6 is SO so much longer than on my iPhone 5. As to the iPad Air 2 - well, I had a big clunky 3rd gen iPad and my new one is not only smaller, lighter and thinner, the battery life is significantly longer as well.

No complaints here! Granted, I don't spend my day streaming movies on either device, but then that really wasn't what they were made for as constant use, were they...
