It is connected vie Ethernet.

Still no luck, after the 3rd restore it still doesn't boot.

Oct 6, 2014 3:31 PM in response to robingallby theroyaltyclub,I didn't get to take the device in like I planned but I left the device unplugged (no power/hdmi/ethernet) for about 5-6 hours and when I plugged it in and turned it on, I got the Apple logo and a progress bar, I assume this was the update finalising, I may be wrong. After that it worked like normal, I haven't had any issues since.

30 seconds or so is usually enough.
