iPhone 6 video recording without sound.

Video volume is separate from system volume. You may not be able to hear video sound even if all other sound is fine. Be sure that you do not have the mute button enabled and that volume is turned up when playing back video.

The microphone for the back camera video is between the lens and the flash. If I cover it, I get no sound. Uncovered it works. Check it before doing a full restore.

Hey everyone there is a fix only listed here once that worked for me but it is a little buried. Go into Settings-->Photos and Camera-->Record Video and then you will most likely have "1080p at 30fps" selected. All you have to do is click on "1080p at 60fps" and then "1080p at 30fps" again. This fixed all of my audio issues, including front and back facing cameras on both Snapchat and the built in camera software, and voice memos. Hope this works for you!

I've just returned from a music festival with a bunch of videos only to find when I came home that none of the recorded sound, this is not the first time this has happened and not the only iPhone 6 that this has happened on for me. Tried everything thats commented on this forum and nothing seems to have worked. No problem with general sound on my phone and even now I have no problems with recording videos on my phone just happens at some random times. Help would be appreciated if anyone knows a fix.

Three years later and you've solved the problem again. Had a SkinIt skin on the back of my iphone 6 plus, failed to remove the "dot" from the skin before placing it on my iphone. Video sound is great now.

You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.

You can post a video to YouTube, but I don't think it's necessary. I believe you.

I found only one other recent post like yours and it has no responses: After iOS 8, no sound when playing video taken from the back camera..

Just curious if you have the same problem using the front and back camera when recording?

I don't think it's a universal issue so you might try another reset. Other than that, I think a restore would be the next step. Could be that your installation got flubbed.

Is your iPhone in a case or cover? If so, remove it and try again.
