Find Friends crashes in iOS 8.0.2

I can't use Find Friends anymore since upgrading to 8.0.2. When I open the app, I see a white screen and after 5-10 seconds, the home screen appears.

I know about the new feature to get the location of a contact through Messages, but this doesn't allow me to set alerts when arriving/leaving on a certain location.
