Microphone button in iOS 8 keyboard

Hi people,

I would know if there's a way to delete the microphone key from keyboard leaving siri active. I love siri, but when I accidentally press microphone button, iPhone makes the sound of siri even if silenced. There is, so, a way to delete that button or at least preventing iPhone makes sound when the key is pressed?

Thank you so much.

I had this issue too. When I followed the instructions here, I found I already had disabled dictation, but the microphone key was still there. I enabled dictation and disabled dictation again. That got rid of the key. I suspect that future iOS updates will switch the dictation key back on, and I will have to go through the same procedure again. Apple are increasingly sloppy that way. This is not the first time I have had to do something similar. Apple changed the functionality of track pads a while back and I had great difficulty changing my old settings because they no longer appeared in preferences.

Just a word of warning.

Swiftkey is free but like most third party keyboards it wants full permissions. This mean it is capable of logging your keystrokes and uploading them. Their privacy policy says the due not log passwords or credit card info but to be safe I would deny these permissions. They keyboard will still work but with limited features. I should also mention that even if the permissions are initially denied, if they are enabled later anything entered while permissions were denied may also be uploaded.
