Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011 three beep w new HDD

My MBP E 2011 has bad sectors on the oem Hitachi drive. I bought a new Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD to replace it. I have initialized the new drive using an older MB and a usb dock ( I can even see in and initialize it using USB during recovery on 2011 MBP E). However when I swap out the Hitachi for the SSD I get only the install disk as a boot option when booting with the option button held (does not show new SSD). After selecting boot from disc it goes to the grey screen with the Apple and evetually just does three beeps repeatedly.

If I put the old Hitachi back in it does not do the three beeps. Due to the bad sectors the Hitachi would load OSX but it was so slow that you could not accomplish anything, apps would fail or timeout.

Bought a cheap 60 GB Seagate thinking maybe this was a firmware issue, though I could plug that in. Install OSX, update firware so it could recognize the SSD. However on boot it still does the three beeps. The old drive I tought should avoid any firmware issue, regular HDD, not SSD.

I have seen many posts that say RAM but if this was RAM why does it not do it with the original Hitachi drive? Also have tried taking each RAM out individually, swaping positions, etc.

Any ideas?

Can't clone original drive, it fails due to the bad sectors. Original Hitachi was Boot Camped with Win 7 at time of failure.
