Jan 21, 2015 7:04 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby psmyth,The point is there needs to be an option to change Hey Siri. Bet you'll now be tempted to say Hay Siri when you see an iPhone plugged in.

I understand what the thread is about. I'm perfectly happy with the way things are. And no, I won't be tempted to do something that puerile; I'm a grown up.

You can just say "hey siri (and any command)" in one sentence and it does it.
Correct. That's the way it works.

Jan 24, 2015 9:56 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby Timeshell,So nice that you're happy. However, it seems many are not which is the point. Apple's policy of dictating what makes people happy rather than listening is one reason why so many people hate Apple and jailbreak their devices.
The fact is, could you imagine everyone in the same room being called "Jim"? It be like "Hey Jim!" And everyone would turn around and look at you and then you say "He's dead Jim!!"
SIriously, Apple needs to get some humilty and accept that many people are looking for a little more flexibility.

What they're doing seems to be working extraordinarily well for them.

Jan 24, 2015 10:14 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby Timeshell,The only reason for which is that people still know that they can jailbreak to get features not sanctioned by Apple. I know for myself that the moment I am not able to do so I will no longer be investing in Apple devices.

Jan 24, 2015 9:23 PM in response to Bl@ckR0ckby conrad2k,This is a small, but real problem. My wife and I both have iPhone 6's. We both plug them in at night. I say, "Hey Siri set an alarm for 8:00 AM," and both IPhones set alarms. My wife then gives me an annoyed look and has to reset her alarm. It seems that customizable trigger phrases would be the simplest solution, though voice recogniton would have a cool factor too!

Feb 1, 2016 12:50 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby Mike K,Wow. Came here looking for answers, and instead found the snottiest, rudest CS employee I think I've ever seen. Ok, I plan on buying a new cellphone within the next 6 months, both the absence of this common-sense feature and the company's incredibly poor treatment of its customers like this will definitely be remembered when it comes time to choose my next smartphone. Well done.

Feb 1, 2016 6:02 AM in response to conrad2kby ChrisJ4203,If you take the time to set up Hey Siri, it should only recognize your voice, so it shouldn't set alarms on both devices. That setup is one of the features of the 6s series.

Feb 1, 2016 6:07 AM in response to Mike Kby ChrisJ4203,You are not speaking with or reading information from CS employees. This is a user to user technical support forum, and answers here are from users like yourself, who take the time to answer people's questions. If you have followed Apple for any time at all, or research their devices prior to purchase, you would know that they are not generally in the business of providing a large amount of choices for customers. They program things the way they want. The feedback link provided earlier is the way to let Apple know what you think about features, and at times, they will make changes. If you follow these long posts, you would understand why replies get the way they do, when people repeat the same things over and over and miss the methods to make their comments to Apple.
