Q: Why do I have to buy more storage?

Ever since I upgraded to iOS8, my iPhone has told me that I have to buy more storage to back it up. However, I still have 827 MB available and the next backup only requires an additional 100 MB of storage space. The additional space is needed to process the back up and not to actually store it.
