Q: Cannot Stop Pop Ups

From what I can read in the forums I have been hit with a malware/adware program. Can't seem to find it to delete it.

I do not have any extensions and have tried deleting all my cookies.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks for any and all help!

Click here and run Adware Medic.

    Thanks, Neil.

I have read on forums not to use Adware medic type programs. I am supposed to go through and manually delete certain programs? Do you know anything about that? I have run a test on terminal and got some results. Would you like to see them?

That specific tool was created by a longtime contributor to these boards and is safe to use.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.

In response to a similar question. No offence, Neil. I am sure it works great! Just would rather fix organically.

You're right to be cautious about running unknown software on the advice of a stranger.

It's good that you're exercising skepticism at this point. Thinking about everything you download is always a good thing.

If you don't want to run a program like AdwareMedic, use the manual instructions in my Adware Removal Guide instead. These are kept in sync with what AdwareMedic removes. The instructions for some items are too difficult for some people to follow, which is why I created AdwareMedic, but if you feel confident that you can follow them properly, then you have no need for such an app.
