Hello,

I came across this conversation and am looking for help. I have an early 2008 iMac and a 2017 MacBook Pro. Are there any mini DVI to USB C cables? I assume not. Do you know what's the best way to connect the iMac with my USB C device to use as a 2nd monitor? I have an adaptor for my MacBook Pro that has female HDMI, female USB, and female ethernet.

Thanks!

You are welcome!

All of the iMac models from Early 2006 thru Early 2008, had Mini DVI ports for video output.

All of the iMac models from Late 2008 thru Late 2011, had MiniDisplay ports for video output.

All of the iMac models from 2012 and later, have Thunderbolt ports that serves as both high resolution display output and/or high performance data transfer.
