iPhone 5S hanging and screen freezing iOS 8.0.2

i am having same problm ! it annoys me a lot ! till the time i was using ios7 touch id was working properly . but after upgrading to ios8 their are no fingerprint left on my phone that i haved saved earlier . and while we r pressing on ADD A FINGERPRINT , if shows a msg TOUCH ID FAILS , UNABLE TO PROCESS , GO BACK TO HOME SCREEN AND TRY AGAIN LATER . I have updated ios 8.0.2 but i am experiencing the same problm !

how did u update ur iphone?? OTA or from itunes?

Firstly i updated through my phone via wifi ! Then apple custumer care advised me to update it through lapi ! I went to my nearest apple store ! They again update my iphone via their pc ! But still i m experiencing the same problm ! What should i do ? I cant even downgrade my ios!

Most annoying thing is that i am not able to access my fingerprint ! I want to but i6 ! But first i want to sell out my this phone ! Due to touch id problm m not able to sell me set .

take backup in iTunes using option "This Computer" don't use iCloud option in iTunes on Computer,

Erase All Data and Config the device as new device and you feel there is no issue of freezing,

issue is actually related to Data, check it and feel the difference,

later on you put the data back in iPhone by option Restore Backup,

iTunes Sync is must as new updates are coming frequently that will save data and frequent crash anyone is facing,

my issue resolves after complete erase and restore the data, make it and enjoy 😉

I too had same freezing problem as you have described. I used to notice it hung exactly after call ends. Did you update 8.0.2 directly from iphone without using iTunes. If yes, then you are likely to get this issue. I had contacted apple support then, they have advised me, to take a backup and do complete "restore iPhone" using iTunes, which I did, since then the freezing problem gone. However, I am facing frequent "Call failed" issues when placing outgoing call or my callers are not able to reach me. At my workplace, which is very low on 3G and reasonable 2G signal strength, this problem is acute. Don't know if it is carrier issue or iphones. But when I come out of such zones, I do not get call failed so frequently. I have followed up this issue with Apple Support and I am advised to contact nearest authorized service centre, to get it services. I think this has more to do with the carried update that Apple has pushed, to have only LTE on/Off toggle. I use idea.

Yes, Carrier tech needs more do with this issue 3G and LTE Toggle not works in idea currently only Airtel is Offerin,

when you say Carrier - idea and "Call Failed" is common issue,

to resolve Call Failed issue try this, Go to Setting-Phone-Show My Caller ID it will refresh and authenticate your carrier, Now you will not get Call Failed any more,

this issue is specially faced in idea and Tata Docomo Carrier in India, ask for Nano SIM don't cut the SIM

Thank you for your reply. I will certainly try this. But I am advised by Support to give to Apple Authorized service centre for servicing. I have given my handset to them, though with little hesitation. Had I got your reply before, I would have not given it. Anyways,

I was an Airtel customer and they had LTE toggle even in iOS7.0, but I had very bad time, due to that, as my workplace was low on signal strength. So I switched to idea, because, then, it had 3G ON/OFF toggle, which allowed me to hook up and lock to 2G signals, whenever I have low signal zone. It was working fine, but since I upgraded to iOS 8, it was replaced with LTE On/Off toggle, and trouble started.

idea as carrier having no issues, they need to put there tech guy to config there switches or enable LTE in there setting to enable 3G On Off Option

it is Carrier option not phone.

iOS 8 is LTE ready and 2G will not continue any more as data, they need to config there switch so when user off LTE it should go to 2G if Cellular data on,

no want to use 3G and LTE at the same time,

Yes, Even my iPhone 5 lags after OS upgrade to 8.0.2 through iTunes. Also lock screen hangs when call ends.... Only I can do is switch off and on again....

actually you dont have to switch off ur iphone......if u have siri enabled, use siri to open any app.....u can easily skip that glitch screen(blur screen)

After iOS 8.1 update there is a tick button provided to chose among LTE, 2G,3G option, which has solved the issue.
