Reminders not working

I don't recall making any changes to iCal but for some reason my email reminders and pop up reminders suddenly stopped working. Any suggestions on what steps I could take without having to input all the reminders again?

Hi Cal,

Do the reminders appear if iCal is open?

In iCal's Preferences>Advanced is the check box 'Turn off alarms when iCal is not open' checked? Open System Preferences> Accounts> Login Items. Is iCalAlarmScheduler in the login items? This application launces the alarms when iCal is not open.

It's possible this background application is not launching properly. Try removing it from your login items (highlight it and click on the minus button). Then toggle the preference in iCal to re-enter the application to your login items.

I hope this helps.

No, my alarm still doesn't appear, and preference is set accordingly.

Open System Preferences> Accounts> Login Items. Is iCalAlarmScheduler in the login items?

That iCalAlarmScheduler is in my Login Items.

Removed iCalAlarmScheduler from the login item, quit System Pref and then went back to iCal to toggle the reminder preference, did a test and this worked! Thanks a bunch.

I am experiencing trouble with iCal: My alarms are no longer working.

Here's what I've tried:

(1) I've tried deleting iCal prefences and then regenerating them by relaunching iCal. That has not helped.

(2) I've tried removing the iCalAlarmScheduler from my Startup Items list, and then re-adding it using the iCal Preferences toggle item. That has not helped.

Here's some potentially relevant information:

(1) I'm running OS 10.3.9.

(2) My Startup Items list includes Stickies; iTunesHelper; and iCalAlarmScheduler.

(3) The iCal preferences that show up in my User>Library>Preferences folder are com.apple.iCal.plist; and com.apple.iCal.sources.plist.

What am I missing? Must I reinstall iCal? Can I reinstall iCal?

Thank you for any assistance whatsoever.

Mark
